Dishonest Democrats

In recent weeks I have been reading headlines about the Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. Most recent are the allegations made against him by Christine Blasey Ford, who claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her 36 years ago when the two were in high school. These allegations should be taken seriously and the truth should be sought. In short, her story needs to be corroborated. Yet, senate democrats have been refusing to question Kavanaugh and Ford on the allegations. Why? Because they are stalling in an effort to draw this ordeal out until the November elections can be held and democrats have a shot at taking back the senate majority. In which case they would insist they should be the ones to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination…meaning he wouldn’t be voted onto the Supreme Court. This is further evidenced by the fact Dianne Feinstein sat on the allegations for weeks before revealing them shortly before the vote on Kavanaugh was to take place. Getting what you want at the expense of another person’s well-being is now considered acceptable by senate democrats.

Celebrities such as Alyssa Milano, Julia Luis Dreyfus, and Rosie O’Donnell have already made statements that they stand in solidarity with Ford and that they fully believe her. How do they know Ford is correct and that Kavanaugh, who vehemently denies the allegations, is wrong? Because they don’t like Kavanaugh and the decisions he makes as a judge. That is all they are basing their support for Ford on, it has to be that because no evidence or witnesses have been provided to lend Ford’s allegations credence. These celebrities are willing to slander, and potentially ruin a man’s life, simply because he has different political beliefs. When did such a lapse of integrity become acceptable?

I know that democrats do not have a monopoly on corruption, but it is their deceit which is self-evident at the moment, so it is their deceit which I have an opinion on.

I don’t know enough about the political aspect of this article to make a comment on that part of the issue but I will say something regarding the celebrities wading in with their support. It has always bothered me the way some celebrities seem to think that just by virtue of their being a celebrity their opinions are somehow worth more than others around them. If you disagree with their opinions you are ignorant, a racist, a macho pig, etc., etc., etc… Why do people give them so much power?

I think the general public give celebrities so much influence because they do not want to think critically themselves. Also, it is fashionable to like certain celebrities and follow what they do, a cult of personality type of thing. It certainly shouldn’t be that way because the rich and famous typically have a more sheltered view of the real world. This is partly due to the pedestal many are willing to place them on. Just my thoughts.

I agree with your comment, Dianne. It seems some celebrities think that name recognition and a platform to share opinions with a large audience makes their opinions more knowledgeable and valid, when it most certainly does not.
