    A Weak Argument For Abortion

During my adventures on Twitter, Disqus, Gab, and comment sections on many different websites I have come across numerous arguments for abortion. One of the most common arguments I have seen is that due to the fetus’ dependence on the mother for survival it cannot be considered a viable human life. I find this position to be logically untenable. If we are to consider a fetus “unviable” because it depends on it’s mother for the necessities of life, then what do we consider those on life support? Are they to be labelled mere “clumps of cells” because they cannot fend for themselves? Let us consider those who are born with…

Ectopic Pregnancy: What It Is And Handling It From A Pro-Life Perspective

I am a Christian, and I believe that all human life has intrinsic value from the very moment of conception. Therefore, I believe that abortion is the intentional destruction of human life no matter what stage the pregnancy is in. As an opponent of abortion, I engage in many discussions and debates on the subject. The pro-abortion crowd has many different arguments they use to try and win people to their side. One of their lesser used arguments that has proven difficult for me to rebut effectively is that of ectopic pregnancy. When I first encountered this argument I had no idea what it was, so I did some research…

What I Saw When Working In A Public School

I make no secret of the fact I homeschool my children, actually, I am somewhat proud of it. My kids started their homeschool careers in the early spring of 2015. However, before I began homeschooling I worked at a public elementary school (grades K-5) as a paraprofessional with special needs kids. I was employed there for nearly two school years. It is one of the most stressful, yet also rewarding, jobs I have ever had and I observed many positive things during my employment. Not everything I saw pleased me, however. During my time there I noticed several trends that I believe are quite negative in nature. As I mentioned,…

5 Paths To A Less Stressful Life

Stress, we all deal with it each day of our lives. It weighs us down, burdening us with frustration, worry, fear, anxiety, and even depression. When I feel stressed out, I feel like there are knots in my chest and head. The more stress I feel the more these knots constrict. My patience nosedives which causes my anger to accelerate and my thinking becomes muddled. My loved ones, in my flawed, stressed thinking, become little more than irritants. In short, I turn into Scrooge McDuck.  In my opinion, feeling stressed is often more the fault of the individual than the circumstances around them. This isn’t to say that some situations…

    Sarah’s Abortion Story

This week’s post is written by Sarah St. Onge, one of the many women who have received an abortion and regretted it. I asked her if she would be willing to share a portion of her story because I think it is a good example of what motivates so many women to stand against abortion. It also shows that there are women on the pro-life side of the debate that know what it is like to be facing difficult decisions. Perhaps, knowing that there is compassion and understanding waiting for them on the pro-life side, more women will be encouraged to choose life. On an unremarkable (or psychologically buried) spring…

    Deterring Home Intruders

Many folks state that if an intruder ever breaks into their home, they will simply shoot them. I don’t know about everyone else, but that sounds like a rather unpleasant experience to me. Therefore, I make a conscious effort to make my home an unappealing target. I take a few thoughtful steps to try and achieve this goal, many of which have been promoted by law enforcement as being effective. My pursuit in taking the following steps is to make my home less appealing than those around me. Someone looking for a home to break into would prefer not being seen. With that in mind I make it a point…

    Infant Safe Haven Laws

From the pro-abortion crowd, I often hear that abortion is the best, or even only, option for women with unwanted pregnancies. Oh, how wrong they are, for there are numerous options besides an abortion. The most obvious alternative to an abortion is to keep and raise the baby, allowing his/her love to fill your life and heart. Another obvious alternative to abortion is to have the baby and give it up for adoption. This allows the mother to get back to her life and the way it was before, while also allowing the baby to live a happy life with a loving family. There is another option, a more last-minute…

    How UnPlanned Helped Me

Earlier today I went and saw UnPlanned at my local theater. I wanted to help support pro-life causes and I figured this was a good way to go about it. After all, I pay $10 to see a Marvel movie once or twice a year and those movies are rather meaningless in the long run. So, why not spend $10 to see a movie with an exceedingly positive message on an important topic? The movie made an impression on me, but perhaps not in the way it did for many others. The movie contains some imagery that is somewhat graphic, it depicts the reality of abortion for many women. It…

    Memories Of My Children

When I began vacuuming today I noticed my two year old son sitting on the rug by our stairs with a book in his lap. The book is about one-third the size of his entire body. As he sat there pouring over the pictures in his book, a peaceful yet intent expression on his face, the sun shone it’s light through a nearby window and highlighted the tips of his pale-yellow hair. The image was so sweet and genuine that it caused me to feel a little choked-up. It also got me thinking about memories I have of each of my children, and of how those memories will likely keep…

    Devaluing Life

Gone are the days of abortion advocates claiming that what is being destroyed by an abortion is just a “clump of cells.” There can be no more arguing about the “viability” of an unborn baby’s life. Democrats just voted against legislation that would have protected infants born alive after an attempted abortion. A baby, living, breathing outside the womb can now be the victim of an abortion. “Safe, legal, and rare” used to be the mantra of the pro-abortion movement. If they ever did truly want it that way, it is evident they no longer do. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America, they kill over 300,000 babies…
