    Twitter Needs Competition

In recent weeks Twitter has come under fire from conservatives and libertarians due to political profiling and censorship of non-liberal views. One of the biggest cases is that of Laura Loomer, a journalist from Minnesota. She was recently banned from Twitter for the rest of her life. Loomer was banned due to a tweet that Twitter moderators claim violates their terms of service. In her tweet, which was about a newly elected Muslim Democrat named Ilhan Omar, Loomer pointed out that Omar practices a religion that supports the oppression of both women and homosexuals. She is not incorrect, but Twitter still banned her. Yet, they have not banned Louis Farrakhan,…

    Watching Porn Supports Human Trafficking

I recently looked into the relationship between pornography and human trafficking, I was not surprised or shocked by what I discovered… The relationship starts exactly the way I thought it would, the desensitization of regular porn viewers. When we experience something many times over, the effect that something has on us slowly weakens because we have experienced it so many times before. This ultimately leads to us seeking more of that something in an effort to illicit the same level of response we had in the very beginning. Porn viewing typically begins with rather plain sexual acts being watched, but it inevitably leads to more bizarre sex acts later down…

    Legalized Murder

The Oxford Dictionary defines murder as “The unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.” Why is murder unlawful? Because it robs someone of their life against their will, it denies that person everything they might gain in the future. It doesn’t just rob present and future physical possessions, but also present and future emotional, mental, and spiritual experiences. This includes the experiences that may be denied to other people the victim may have currently known or become involved with in the future. Not only does our Lord God instruct us not to murder, “You shall not murder” is the sixth commandment, but even cultures that deny God admit…

    Disturbing “Believe all Victims” Trend

After the hullabaloo concerning the accusations that Christine Blasey Ford made against Judge Brett Kavanaugh, there has been a resurgence of the, “believe all victims” chant from the Democratic Party. The idea that all victims need to be believed originated somewhere within the #metoo movement that started when Democratic donor, Harvey Weinstein, was outed as a sexually perverse molester and abuser of women in Hollywood. A victim is seemingly defined by this movement as a female that claims she has been physically or sexually assaulted by a man, regardless of evidence or corroboration of the woman’s claims. Some may think I am being misleading when I give voice to this…

HEP A Vaccine: Contents and Dangers

“Hepatitis A is a vaccine-preventable, communicable disease of the liver caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV). It is usually transmitted person-to-person through the fecal-oral route or consumption of contaminated food or water. Hepatitis A is a self-limited disease that does not result in chronic infection. Most adults with hepatitis A have symptoms, including fatigue, low appetite, stomach pain, nausea, and jaundice, that usually resolve within 2 months of infection; most children less than 6 years of age do not have symptoms or have an unrecognized infection. Antibodies produced in response to hepatitis A infection last for life and protect against reinfection. The best way to prevent hepatitis A infection…

The Price of Ignoring God’s Will

We all have either moments, or areas of our lives, where we struggle to give something up for God. One of my areas is entertainment, whether it is the movies I watch or video games I play, I tend to push aside what God wants in favor of what I want. I don’t typically see an immediate repercussion for ignoring God’s will, but what is the long-term price I am paying? Doing whatever you want to despite it being against God’s will for you can lead to a less fulfilling life. Our hobbies are like broken cisterns, we can put water in them but they will always run dry at…

    The Case Against Halloween

Halloween is coming up and, as is my yearly tradition, I refresh my brain as to why my family does not celebrate it. There are many who may call me a religious nutcase for not allowing my kids to dress up as zombies or murder victims, run around scaring little children, or to take candy from strangers. However, these would also be the people that fail to exercise critical thinking skills. Religious reasons are certainly parts of the armament of my logic, but they aren’t the only parts. Secular Reasons: Parents spend much of their time and effort training their children to be careful around strangers. They remind their kids…

The WNBA has become the, “Social Justice League”

When the WNBA was first established in the spring of 1996, investors and basketball fans alike were hopeful that it would develop into a solid league. Long story short, that hasn’t happened yet. The League set an all-time low in average game attendance during the 2017-18 season at just 6,721 filled seats per game. In contrast, during just its second season the league boasted an average attendance of over 10,000 per game. It has been all downhill from there as most people just don’t think the women are as exciting to watch as the men. However, we are being told by the main stream media, the WNBA players, and sportswriters…

People Lift Themselves out of Poverty, not Jobs.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read, “Jobs should lift people out of poverty, not keep them in it.” I couldn’t disagree more. The very idea that a job should automatically pay enough to keep a person from poverty absolves the individual of any responsibility in the matter. It assumes that the person simply has no choice but to be poor, that they are powerless to avoid it. I am going to refute that notion in the following paragraphs. Like Dave Ramsey frequently says, “your income is your most powerful wealth building tool.”An employer is not responsible for providing a living wage, you are responsible for earning…

    HPV Vaccine: Contents and Dangers

The HPV vaccine is used to guard against the Human Papillomavirus and was first introduced in 2006. There are two HPV vaccines used in the United States, Cerverix and Gardasil. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), recommends a total of three doses, two of which should be given before the child’s 15th birthday and the third given 6-12 months after. Though, ideally, the CDC recommends all children aged 11-12 should start the vaccine schedule. According to the CDC, HPV is contracted through sexual contact. They also state that virtually everyone has at least one type of HPV. They then go on to say that, “Most people with HPV…
